Strengths: I found, through my experience, that I would make a great speech pathologist due to my patience and creative ideas for pulling out words and my positive attitude is encouraging to children and their parents. I have even been told I should definitely become and advocate or speech pathologist by many at the University of Alabama Speech and Hearing Department. My husband and I went and spoke to one of Angie Barber's classes about the family dynamics of Autism. She said she got great feedback about our visit. I feel like I could at least be a help to the families that are struggling with the emotions they feel from day to day. I can relate to them and I'm personable.
Why I became a
Rescue Angel:
Autism is close to my heart and it has actually become a positive thing. I want to help other families because I know how hard it is and how one could become defeated if you let it.
Child's Symptoms: Tantrums, regressed speech, no eye contact, no interest in playing with peers (or anyone else for that matter).
Helpful Therapies: Speech and occupational. Removed dairy.
