I remember how I felt when my child was diagnosed. I was shocked and angry; angry at myself for not noticing his symptoms. I am blessed his pediatrician caught the symptoms at 18 months. We chose not to give him his 18 month vaccinations and I am pleased that our doctor supported this decision. We obtained biomedical intervention with a DAN! doctor immediately thereafter. It has been a long journey; one I never saw myself (or my family)taking. Having a child with autism will take you out of your comfort zone both medically and emotionally. I want other families to know they are not alone. Over the past 18 months both of my sons have improved significantly. It is so encouraging to see their progress. I am a firm believer in the results of ABA. We have even taught their older brothers how to help them by using PRT. I believe that has made such a difference in their outcome; our entire family is involved in the healing and therapy process. There are many benefits through your Regional Center that you are entitled to; often times you get the "run around". I would love to encourage others to not give up the process of obtaining these benefits. After age 3, your local school district becomes involved as well. I hope our story can encourage other families to not give up hope and to keep trying. |

My child likely would have become autistic had we not intervened at a very early age. I want to be able to help moms who are at the early stages, before diagnosis...when they can't sleep from the fear of the possibility of autism. That was such a helpless feeling for me, but we don't have to be helpless! There is much you can do to PREVENT autism.
By the way, my son was never vaccinated. I believe he might have been much worse had we done so, but the fact remains that non-vaccinated kids are getting autism too. |

Why I became a
Rescue Angel: |
My goal and passion is to help other families achieve what we have had with my son! I'd say 90% of his autism is gone! Just a few tiny segments remain. Most people see just a typical 8th grade honors student. I have written many articles on the GFCF diet, I give seminars and tours of Whole Foods and HFS's and I have a book coming out in April 2009: The Autism and ADHD Diet: A Step-by-Step Guide to Hope and Healing by Living Gluten Free and Casein Free (GFCF) and Other Interventions...Currently I pass out a FREE 4 page starter guide...I email it all over the world! |

Severe sensory issues, meltdowns, ate mostly smooth foods, very picky eater, violent behavior, frustrated to tears, poor eye contact, poor social skills, difficulty with change in routine, obsessed over things, soft, mushy poops, difficulty with abstract things, only talked about subjects that interested him, all conversations were always reverted to his obsessions. |

[philosophy], biomedical therapies in general, leaky gut syndrome, toxic metals, viral issues, yeast overgrowth, weak immune systems... etc. Also I've educated myself on how to change our lives and 'go green' with organic foods, no plastic, organic cleaners... etc. These changes have also greatly influenced my son. I feel so very fortunate to have met someone who saved my child's life by introducing me to the DAN protocol. My son has improved dramatically within the past 8 months and is very near complete recovery. I feel that we are all in this together as parents and it is my duty to help others find biomedical therapies to help recover their own children. I've already helped several moms in my son's preschool class who now see my DAN also. It is the greatest strength as a mother to *know* you are helping others too. |
