Because I feel there are so many mothers out there that just need someone to talk to when we are going through this. It is so very hard to watch your children go through this. However I am glad to say that Jenny M has made a stand in helping us with a guide so to speak on how to help our children. Because we all know the Docs aren't really saying that much once they tell us "Hey he is autistic". Jenny is not there for us one on one so we can talk. Not that I am sure she doesn't want to be but she can not be. So I would like to put myself out there so that there is someone else that can reach out to me when times are hard! |

My son has sensory issues. Needs to have pressure applied to him in order to focus. He has no communication at all. Rolls his cars all day long and watch's the wheel spin. He is healthy it seems for the most part. Just lack of communication and eye contact. |

I am a mother who\'s first born child suffered for the first 3 years of his life. We have been through a lot and I am also a lead nurse who is aware of medical conditions and treatments. I want to help families in anyway I can--even if its just for support which is so important. I do have a second son who does not have autism and if parents of chidren who have autism are planning on more children...i have some interesting (PERSONAL, NOT MEDICAL) precautions that worked. |

I have a strong need to help other families. I truly believe that there is a lack of education and help for our children. When we first received our diagnosis just over a year ago from a major children’s hospital, we were not given any hope or a plan of action. We were basically told just to let the school system handle it. Based on our research, we put together a team and a plan. Because there is no mainstream medical support of biomedical therapies, we got off to a slow start. After seeing Jenny in the news and reading heῲ book, our therapies were jump started. We have now started a local non-profit organization, ARCK (Autism Resource Center of Kokomo), to help families develop their own plans and put their own teams together. |
