Lots of repetitive behaviors and a lack of speech development once he hit a year old. He was evaluated at 18 months.

Absolutely… the possibilities of having another child with autism was definitely a topic of convo. In the end… we chose #hope.

Not being a helicopter mom… I had to learn to expose will to peer situation but let him go at his own pace.

Love the Hope advice. My freshman son was high honors and starting LB. Autism spectrum diagnosed age 1, didn’t speak til 4.

Honestly – his teachers. They are always an incredible help. And other autism parents – getting their input is key!

#Autism #Siblings are rockstars. They have to deal with a lot. Always give them attention – they sacrifice often!

Bullying – lots of our kiddos can’t stand up for themselves. Promote awareness and understanding with peers!

Have not – but friends who have rave about it! I’ve always wanted to try it!

Parks, pools, and we love going to the movies! We usually do activities as a family but friends are always welcome!

YES! Take it one day at a time. #Autism is tough – unfortunately, family doesn’t always appreciate the struggle. Know that for some, autism will be too much to handle – surround those who offer love and support! Know that on your worst of days, it will get better… don’t forget to cut yourself some slack. #Autism is tough.

The day my sone told me he loved me without being prompted – best day of my life. Made all the bad days forgettable.

YES!! You have to take care of yourself – you’re not a good spouse/mother if you’re exhausted and worn out!

After 14 years, it’s a challenge sometimes! But we make each other a priority – lots of date nights!

My daughter loves @barleans lemonade flavored fish oil – said it tastes like yogurt! She’ll take a spoonful!

We did not… it was never a consideration.

Always have yummy, health options within reach… grabbing chips is easy and convenient, but so is trail mix!

A couple of driving-distance stay cations… always amazed at how hotel swimming pools are EVERYTHING to kids!!! And it’s my first time being home with the kiddos for the summer – looking forward to some adventuring!
