I’m so sorry for the long absence, forgive me. It’s been a busy month (when is it not?). I’ve missed you, how are you doing? Lots have been happening here, I’ll try to fill you in…
Mei and Min Min had coughs and colds but they were pretty mild. Some kids at school came down with gastroenteritis and of course, they caught the bug too. But overall, they’re doing great. I’m hoping we’ll have 3 consecutive illness-free weekends soon, wouldn’t that be awesome?
The results for their hair analysis, urine and blood work came back. There’s a couple of things to work on, but generally lots of improvements, yeay! But the blood draw, ugh!! You KNOW how much I hate it. Though it does get better and easier. It’s still traumatic for the girls and me, but at least this time Hubby didn’t nearly faint. Unlike the first couple of times remember?
Mei has oxalates issues now. ☹ Totally my bad; I didn’t give their calcium supplement with meals. Classic rookie mistake. See, I told you I’ve lost my biomed mojo… Interestingly, Min Min’s calcium dosing was the same as her sister’s, but she doesn’t have high oxalates. We’re now on the Low Oxalate Diet and I make sure they have calcium with their meals now.
We had our follow up consult for CEASE therapy. After a year plus doing homeopathy, you’d think I’d have this thing down pat. But, I still managed to screw up this current protocol! Screw up aside, Mei still put on 0.5kg/ 1.1lbs in 2 weeks, woohoo!! Best of all, she kept on the weight even 1 month later. You KNOW how hard it is for her to put on weight, this was totally due to the new homeopathic remedy. I was ready to kiss the CEASE practitioner, until he started telling me off about my screw up LOL!!
Parasite cleanse is in da house! I finally sat up and took notice of the nose-picking, butt-scratching and behaviors that screamed “Worms!!” I got some black walnut and artemesia wormwood, hoping it’ll work better than the worm medications. The taste? Bleurgh!! Kudos to Mei and Min Min, they’ve been soooo good at taking their supplements now. I’m even taking note of the moon phases, who woulda guessed?
The frequent, low-dose oral chelation is doing well, though there’s been a few missed rounds:-( You’d think I’d be happy to miss a round, you know how much I love to sleep! A couple of them was because the girls were ill. But we skipped a round because I went away for the weekend to see Duran Duran in Singapore. The concert was brilliant! Wish you were there, Simon is still hot, sigh… I went with my cousin and we had a fantastic weekend in Singapore. You know, my biochemist/ scientist/ PhD candidate/ fashionista cousin? She was far too cool and sensible to slingshot her knickers at the stage hahaha!!! Btw, I got her into natural antifungals and probiotics too, guess I can’t stop preaching natural remedies and alternative treatments even when I’m on a girly trip LOL!!
Min Min is now 5 years old! We threw a party at home and she thorougly enjoyed her birthday. Though she can’t wait to be 6 years old. When did we stop looking forward to growing older?
Don’t forget, the Thinking Moms will be the host for Karaoke Night at the AutismOne/ Generation Rescue Conference 2012! I’ll be flying halfway across the world so make sure you come and say hi. I’ll be decked out in Thinking Mom swag, I’ll be hard to miss LOL! I can’t promise you I’ll sing, but I’ll be there cheering you on!
Hugs and kisses,
PS: April is Autism Awareness Month. Personally, I much prefer Autism Action Month. And no, I will not be wearing blue.
