(Bristol, TN - March 19, 2012)  CJ Faison and his JMI Motorsports crew were up late until 2:00 a.m. Friday evening wondering what set up they should run the next day.  The team was receiving set up notes from top NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series teams.  Track conditions were changing from the previous year and nothing seemed to be working well between teams so they went back to their original set up that worked best at their test earlier in the month.  That change back proved to be the best decision as CJ Faison went out immediately after the Nationwide Series race and qualified 5th in the #39 Generation Rescue car supporting Autism.

The race was the much anticipated season opener for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the first ever conducted at the famed Bristol Motor Speedway for the developmental series.  After a great qualifying effort, CJ started the race in 5th and managed to stay in the Top 10 for the first 70 laps.  After his pit stop, he was pushed to the low grove where the car couldn't get off the corner well enough.  CJ was shuffled back to 17th, after 100 laps was in the books, he started fighting his way back after obtaining the top groove and getting through traffic.  When he was running 13th with only five laps to go, having just passed three cars in that last lap, suddenly two cars behind him got together and pushed up the track into his left rear quarter panel, spinning CJ into the wall with cars crashing into him sustaining damage and ending his day early.  That is short track Bristol racing at the track known as the "World's Fastest Half-Mile".

CJ Faison was more than pleased with his performance, but knew that he was sure to have a Top 10 finish in the season opener as he was gaining on the field quickly.  The team had an excellent weekend and they are looking forward to their next race.  CJ was able to sign autographs for thousands of fans throughout the weekend.  Everywhere he walked, fans were lining up for his autograph.  After realizing that CJ was supporting Autism with Generation Rescue, more than twenty families introduced CJ to their children, which had Autism.  It was an eye opening experience for CJ to be able to meet these children.  It was exciting for the families knowing that they just picked up a new driver to cheer for in his quest to bring more awareness to Autism to the more than 75 million NASCAR fans.

CJ Faison's mission is to educate the NASCAR fan base of more than 75 million fans on Autism and to bring awareness to Generation Rescue.  He wants to raise more than one million dollars for Generation Rescue so that they can directly provide assistance to those in need.  To help CJ, please text AUTISM to 85944 to make a one time $5 donation directly to Generation Rescue.  Together we can make a difference in the lives of these children.  To follow CJ and his progress with this campaign LIKE his new page at http://www.facebook.com/RacingForAutism and share with your friends.  For information on sponsorship CJ Faison, please contact Ryan Johnston with Champion Motorsports Marketing, LLC at contact@champmm.com or by telephone at (757) 969-5338.
