C.A.R.D. NY Autism Summer Conference
On Saturday, June 25, valuable information about the latest breakthroughs in early childhood ASD interventions and technologies for effective treatment will be shared in depth and detail at the one-day CARD New York Autism Summer Conference.
This FREE one-day conference will be located at the Radisson Hotel in New Rochelle, NY, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST.
This special event is established by the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, one of the world leaders in autism treatment and therapies. Registration for the conference is absolutely free for all attendees, including parents, practitioners, researchers, educators and students.
I’m especially excited for my role at this convention in particular. As the keynote speaker, I will be opening the event by sharing the remarkable story of my diagnoses of infantile autism and how I recovered over two decades ago, at a time when resources for treatment were scarce at best. I will also discuss how recovery is possible for children diagnosed with an ASD, just as it was for me.
Workshops to follow, hosted by CARD managing supervisors and autism experts Deidra King, MA, MS, BCBA, and Frank Lo Curto, MS, BCBA, will cover “Creating a Comprehensive and Individualized Treatment Program for a Child with ASD” and “Practical Solutions for Addressing Challenging Behaviors”.
CARD Clinical Director Evelyn Kung, MS, BCBA, will speak to audiences about her experiences of “Using ABA as an Effective Way to Teach Executive Functioning Skills to Individuals with ASD”, as well as “Skills™: A Web-based Tool for Effectively Treating Children with Autism”. An exclusive screening of the award-winning documentary, Recovered: Journeys Through the Autism Spectrum and Back, will be shown to attendees later in the day. Audiences are encouraged to participate in a question and answer period at the end of each presentation.
