Stay Healthy with All-Natural Essential Oils

We stay dedicated to providing our families with some of the best resources to raise healthy children. We’re happy to share Young Living Essential Oils as a way to help support Generation Rescue and keep your family healthy.

Here is Maureen’s Story:

When my son, Jonathan, was diagnosed with severe autism at the age of 16 months, I was not given a road map of answers or treatments. I had no clue what my next step would be and when I started to research diets and therapies – the words “gluten” and “casein” were so foreign to me and new, they came up on the computer with a red-lined, spell check notification.

Fast-forward 13 years later and we have done a variety of diets, supplements and therapies that all have helped Jonathan progress. With the efforts of “cleaning up his diet” I was looking for organic products to help combat yeast, anxieties, allergies, and focus and general behaviors. I also needed natural products that would help me remove toxins from our household. That was when I started using essential oils and I became a hard-core oil Mama.

I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils (YLEOs) through our naturopath who was helping us with homeopathic detoxification on heavy metals. The homeopathic remedies were successful but then we started using the YLEOs to help maintain the healing and it worked.

That was over 10 years ago and Young Living Essential Oils (YLEOs) are a staple of healing in our household. Their ease of application and 100% absorption makes for a universal treatment for all our family members – even the four legged ones!

We of course have some of our favorite oils we use every day:

Peppermint is my “go-to” oil for digestive issues and pain. It also helps me with clearing up any sinus inflammation with a simple inhale from the bottle or a few drops in my hands or diffuser. Peppermint is my favorite “balancer” oil for Jonathan when he needs extra help doing his studies.

Thieves – with a combination of cinnamon bark, rosemary, clove, lemon and eucalyptus, this oil is what we use to clean up germs and help support our immune systems.

The name on the bottle SAYS IT ALL: Stress Away. With the heavenly smells of vanilla, lime, cederwood, copaiba and lavender in a coconut carrier oil base, this oil instantly rolls on the “chill mode” for you and your children.

Lavender is the swiss-army knife of essnetial oils. It may not cook and clean for you, but you can use it on burns if you cook like me and Lavender is a great help with allergies and stress. If you are not sure which oil to reach for in an emergency – Lavender will be the first oil to help!

These are just a few of the oils I use every day. As a matter of fact, that is what Young Living offers: The Everyday Essencial Oils Kit with a total of 10 oils AND a diffuser AND a bonus Oil in the YLEOs Premium Starter Kit item #4672.

I use the oils topically, aromatically and internally. What I love about that is each application – any family member is getting 100% of the potency of the oil absorbed in their skin, inhaled through the vapors of a diffuser or in a capsule made with the oil/carrier oil combination.

I incorporate many different oils in homemade air fresheners, sugar scrubs, ice cubes and even paleo chocolate muffins. One of my favorite oil to use in homemade recipes and striaght from the bottle is Orange!

Essential Oil Air Freshener:

-1 cup of distilled water

-2 tlbs of Which Hazel or Vodka (preservative)

-8 drops of Citrus Fresh or Thieves or Purification or YLEO of choice

-Add all ingredients in a glass spray bottle, close and shake and spray!

Essential Oil Sugar Scrub

1 cup organic granulated sugar

1/8 cup unrefined organic coconut oil (you can also use Young Living V-6 oil, or organic grape seed oil)

2 tablespoons of Vitamin E oil

20 drops of Young Living essential oil:

My favorite choices are…

Lemon, Thieves, Lavender, or Stress Away. All of these oils and more are available as part of the Premium Starter Kit which also comes with a diffuser.

8-12 ounce mason jar

Start Mixing!!!!

Add 1 cup granulated sugar into a mixing bowl

Melt 1/8 cup coconut oil on the stove top

Slowly add the melted coconut oil and Vitamin E oil to the sugar and  mix well. You are looking for the consistency of damp sand.

Add about 20 drops of Young Living Lemon essential oil and keep mixing. Than pour in to your jar and decorate.

I also like to use a baby spoon as a scooper when I use my scrub and I place it by my sinks so I can use it every time I wash my hands!

Ningxia Red and Lime ice cubes

Ningxia Red is a nutritional drink by Young Living with Wolfberries and high in antioxidants. Lime YLEO helps decongest the lymphatic system so it is a great oil to pair with Ningxia Red.

Add 2 ounces of Ningxia Red to 10 ounces of purified drinking water and 2 drops of Lime oil. Place water in shaped ice cube trays and viola – fun ice treats for you child to munch on ?

Chocolate Orange Paleo Muffins

Ingredients

½ cup mini chocolate chips (Enjoy life brand)

¼ cup coconut milk

2 eggs

1 cup almond flour

1-teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon basking powder –aluminum free

½ teaspoon organic vanilla extract

8 drops of Young Living Orange Essential Oil

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

Place a medium saucepan over low heat and combine your chocolate chips and coconut milk

Stir continuously until you form a liquid, creamy sauce – remove from heat and set to the side

Place your 2 eggs in a bowl or mixer and beat until frothy

Add in your chocolate/coconut mix and blend by hand

Add YLEO Orange, almond flour, cinnamon, baking powder, vanilla and chocolate sauce in a mixing bowl and blend until smooth.

You can make these in a muffin tin (the smaller sized muffins the better)

Pour mix into muffin tin slots

Place in your preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick test shows the muffins clean after toothpick stab ?

Remove from oven and let cool.

*You can glaze them with a coconut, raw honey glaze and then melt some more chocolate chips and milk and make a glaze sauce.
