I’m Dr. Bo Wagner, clinical nutritionist and Dean at the University of Natural Medicine. Jenny McCarthy has been my client for over ten years as well as her family and many of her friends and I have also been a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of Generation Rescue for the past 3 years. Jenny has now asked me to write an ongoing blog on the Generation Rescue website which I am very excited to accept. This article is to serve as an introductory letter explaining the information I will be sharing with you.
Jenny wants me share my nutritional philosophy for the entire family as spelled out in my life-style living program “The Wagner Way to Wellness” that helps those who follow it achieve total body wellness. This is the program Jenny has been following with me all these years.
Both Jenny and I feel it is now time to provide more education on proper ways of eating, not only for our children but for families as a whole, which we feel is still lacking in our diets. I will be explaining these additional approaches to eating in my upcoming articles as well as in my food guides, charts and books that Jenny wants me to acquaint you with.
We are all very focused on the wellbeing of children with autism but Jenny is also very concerned about the health of the rest of the family, especially the parents. We all know that life in the autistic community can be very taxing on a family and our concerns and efforts are primarily directed towards the child or children with the disorder and it is very easy for other family members to neglect their own health. If this happens, then the other family members and again especially the parents, will not have the strength, energy and stamina to handle the stress and heavy demands of a family with an autistic member.
This can lead to severe family issues and even breakups. This is something none of us want. So Jenny wants me to put a lot of my focus on the overall good health of the whole family, including diet, supplements, exercise, hydration and total body cleansing, to help every family member to be at their very best.
I have been practicing for 43 years and through the entire experience feel I have discovered and proven what works and what doesn’t work. I work, teach and associate with doctors of all modalities and we are in a general consensus of the validity of this healthful knowledge. I am looking forward to sharing this information with you and hope you find it very beneficial.
Next up will be an overview of my 7 Steps to “The Wagner Way to Wellness.”
In Good Health,
Dr. Bo Wagner
