Strengths: I have been a Mother Warrior for Kristina for 30 years. My daughter has a neuro disorder and we have struggled and led the way through her school years, community college life, job applications, and beyond. After her miraculous "awakening" in 2002 I self published a book about her recovery. HOPE FOR A TIRED NATION describes how GI inflammation and infection affect neuromuscular symptoms. I did not realize there was a connection between her GI, physical complaints and her headaches, seizures, stuporous appearance, and learning problems, until her recovery. Since then I have done more research on the brain-gut connection. My research is extremely applicable to children with autism. My approach is to treat the gut symptoms by avoiding toxins in the diet, treating abnormal function, and eating to heal the gut. I am a Registered Nurse and certified nutrition and wellness consultant. I am semi-retired (working as- needed schedule and am available. I am outgoing and committed to the cause...nutritional approaches to healing. Because of my nursing experience, I am familiar with lab tests and procedures, and can help families interpret medical information. Healing my daughter and helping her thrive is my mission and purpose in life.
Why I became a
Rescue Angel:
My daughter had an "awakening" in 2002 and her "brain fog" cleared. She was able to get off seizure medicine and her reading level improved by 3-4 grade levels. I suspect she had too much milk in her diet which caused constipation, stomach acid, and stomach infection. In September 2007 she recovered from a movement disorder of her hand 2 weeks after gallbladder surgery. I have spent the past 6 years doing research on the brain-gut connection. I am a Registered Nurse, hospice nurse, and a Mother Warrior. I can help Jenny and Evan. There are tests available to check gut, gallbladder, and liver function. I have diet and drug recommendations to soothe and heal the gut. I have urgent information that may help prevent another crisis episode for Evan! He is susceptible to NMS, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, caused by drug toxicity and liver dysfunction!
